Mount Diablo
Mount Diablo is a dominant topographic feature in northern California. It was established in 1851 as the initial point of the Mount Diablo Base Line and Meridian for land surveys spanning two-thirds of California and all of Nevada. The mountain's summit boasts spectacular panoramic views.

The Building of the 680 Freeway
The building of the 680 freeway through the San Ramon Valley Part Two: the 680 freeway from Rudgear road in Walnut Creek to Sycamore road in Danville opened November 15th 1964. The second section from Sycamore road to 580 was opened to the public in the fall of 1966.

Port Chicago Explosion
Former residents of the town of Port Chicago remember the July 17, 1944. The explosion killed 320, leveled the town, and began a cycle of litigation that resulted in the 1969 expulsion of all town residents by the US Navy.

Suisun Bay Mothball Fleet
The Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet (SBRF) is an anchorage of the National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) located in Suisun Bay, a tidal estuary northeast of San Francisco Bay. Of the original eight fleet sites, it is one of three that is still in operation and the only site serving the U.S. west coast
